It's over

After three months 40+ people that came and went. The Healy Hieghts Tent city that I have been in charge is now shut down for the year. Well almost. It's time to get the cleaning done with and then we can be done. And then it's the home stretch to the end of the season and then it's time for traveling.

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas.
What? It's August isn't christmas four month away.
Normally it is. But not if you are in a national park. For you see quite a while a freak summer snowstorm trapped the workers and guests of the Old Faithful Inn on August 25. So the employees made the best of it and came up with a christmas dinner and party on that date and ever since then the National Parks ever been celebrating christmas in the park ever since then. So it's a pretty cool day, with a traditional christmas dinner and all the trimings. It's good stuff and up here in Alaska it's late fall so it just a few days all the trees have been turning color and before long snow will be here. More than likely before I get out of here. But we will see what the weather will bring. Now it's getting dark around 10 here and I am just waiting to catch the Northern Lights. More later.

It's time a for a update.

Okay, I've been slacking all summer on my blog. So it's time for a brief up date. It's been a pretty intresting summer as I've spend much of the summer driving back and forth between Healy Alaska and the park entrance taking employees to and from work and being in charge of all the things that happen up there. And there's some intresting things that happened this summer from a fews massive bonfires that ticked off a few of the campers that were staying there. The tent city is in the middle of the campground. So that has a unique experience and not my first choice of where you put a sesonal employee housing community at. It's been unique experince with a lot of crazy people living there all summer long. And with the summer ending the tent city is nearly empty. So I will be soon doing something different than I have been doing all summer long. But which I started the summer of and that's working in the kitchens. So that should take me towards the end of the season, and then it will be time for a lot of traveling, other parts of Alaska, Seattle, Yellowstone and Montana and heading back east to DC/Philly and that region are just some of the place on the lists to visit. Before i head to my next job. So that's it for now.
